bulletContact Teachers
Voice Mail – Every teacher has a voice mail that can be accessed by dialing the school and choosing the directory option.

E-mail – Every teacher has an e-mail address that is teacher’s first initial followed by last name in small letters @manhattan.k12.ca.us Example: jgrant@manhattan.k12.ca.us

Teacher conferences are available.

Student monitoring reports can be requested by parents in the main office. These reports will be sent to you after the teachers fill out the progress of the student.

Check Teacher’s Website - Many teachers have websites offering information on current and upcoming assignments.

bulletSigned Planners
You may ask your student’s teachers to sign their planner after they have written down their homework. When the student has finished his/her assignments, parents should check the student’s work and sign the planner.
 
bulletEncourage Good Study Skills
Study in advance for tests i.e. flashcards and chapter quizzes.
Encourage good attendance.
Schedule a daily time and place to do homework that is quiet and well lit.
Check homework for accuracy.
 
bulletCounseling
Contact the advisor if there are emotional or social issues interfering with academic success. Grade level advisors have a list of community referrals.
 
bulletTutoring Referrals
MBMS has many resources available to address the needs of students. If you are interested in pursuing additional outside tutoring support, please see the attached list. MBMS cannot be held financially responsible for outside tutoring arrangements.
